Cantonese-Chinese is different from Mandarin-Chinese in both pronunciation and grammar. Cantonese is a common Chinese variant in Hong Kong, Southeastern China, Australia, Canada, and the United States.

Many exported classical Chinese films and actors originate from Hong Kong’s film industry. Watch movies like Enter the Dragon, Ip Man, or Mr Vampire with the original vernacular.

Conducting business in Hong Kong, Macau, or Guangzhou? Having an understanding of Cantonese will get you far with local companies.

The Arts

Art is a large part of China's history. To study the greats ancient Chinese poetry and paintings, you’ll need the traditional Chinese characters inherent in Cantonese.

Food – one of the best reasons to do anything. Be confident walking into your local Dim Sum (Yum Cha) or Chinatown – knowing exactly what dish is what.
